Widen Your Life While You're Here

We don’t get to choose how much time we have here. That part is out of our hands. But what is in our hands, what we can shape, is how wide, how rich, how soul-filled our lives become while we're in this body, on this Earth, in this moment.

This is a reminder I come back to often, especially in my work. Guiding others through healing, stillness, feeling, remembering. So much of what we’re searching for isn’t far away; it’s here, waiting in the quiet cracks of our days. We just forget to look.

So here it is, softly and urgently:

Sip your coffee a little slower.

Light candles more.

Linger at the dinner table when the conversation gets good, even if the dishes are calling.

Hug your people longer.

Let you both feel that hug.

There is no rush.

Say the words before you think of reasons not to.

It may be the last chance you get.

Create the things your soul is nudging you to make.

Don’t dismiss your gifts just because they don’t look like someone else’s.

Don't ignore the whispers of curiosity that keep finding their way back to you.

That beauty that keeps trying to reach you? Let it in. Let it touch you. And reach back.

Let your life stretch wide, with feeling, with presence, with wonder.

Be the person who sends the message.

Who notices.

Who chooses to love even when it's not the easy thing to do.

Who remembers that softness is strength.

Who forgives, when possible, not to excuse, but to set your own soul free.

Your hurt is real, but it doesn’t need to become your home.

Let it breathe. Let it be seen. But don’t let it cage you.

And above all, keep putting your heart into this world.

Even when it feels too much.

Even when you're tired.

Even when you're not sure if it's reaching anyone.

Because it is.

It always is.

You are here.

Make it count, not by doing more, but by being more fully alive in the moments you have.

That’s living wider…

Rooting for your growth,

Jamie Lynn
